Bush: US not headed into recession.
We're not getting another government check.

Loss of wind causes Texas power emergency.
Little wind meant little wind power generation, meant loss of power. Bad news for wind power enthusiasts/investors.

As a short introduction, I figured since I spend a lot of time combing news.google.com, Reuters, www.digg.com, and other places for relevant news that would actually affect me, I might as well save other people the time and effort. You can expect daily posts, although likely not at similar times. Many days will simply have "Nothing Important Happened" because, despite what news outlets would like us to think, that's true a lot of days.

The Fed is probably going to lower rates again.

New York Philharmonic's trip to North Korea ends...

The Usual Election News
Obama has momentum, Clinton is trying to rebound, McCain warns against a non-Republican president. Lots, and lots, and LOTS of articles about this if you're that interested.

Comcast Puts Foot Farther In Mouth
Comcast paid non-employees to cheer them on during the F.C.C. hearing concerning them and net neutrality. Hopefully this will help keep them from winning. If you haven't read up on Net Neutrality and Comcast, the short version:
Net Neutrality - the idea that internet providers should not selectively block internet use.
Comcast - does exactly that.
